The new priority message sending process can be used to target Priority Issues raised by users (e.g. anti-social behaviour, speeding etc). This process relies on the use of templates so that customised messages can be sent out to three categories of members automatically, while only requiring basic details to be input:
1) Active Matches: The user has listed the issue you are sending a message for as one of their priorities
2) Active Members: The user has completed a survey but listed a different issue as a priority for them
3) General Update: The user has not completed a priority survey and therefore hasn't listed any priority issues
A Super User for a force's site can configure these templates from the main admin, then the Message Console section.
From there, you can access 'Local Priority Templates' to edit these:
Then, you can select a particular priority group, to edit its 3 templates.
Editing template text
Once a priority group has been selected, you will reach a page, like the one pictured below:
From there, you can select from one of the three recipient types. As previously noted, these are the three templates for the three types of messages that will be sent out: active matches, active members and general message.
When you have selected a template type, you can then edit the template content. Firstly, you can change the message subject and header.
The header is the introduction to the message, this should establish which type of member is being contacted about. For example, if you are editing the template for an active match for alcohol, in other words, a member that has raised Alcohol as a priority issue, the header should reflect this, like the example below:
The next option to edit is the placeholder text. This is what will display to the administrator who sends the message, when they compose the message, to tell them what they should include in their message. This text is to prompt the message sender to describe usually what has been done to address the particular priority issue.
The final text you can edit is the footer of the message. This may include links to further guidance regarding the particular priority issue and places to report online etc.
Below this option, you can save the template content.
Editing template image
At the bottom of the text options, you can add a series of images that can be used in the template. These images are unique to each priority template. Users can select one of the images added here for their message. Alternatively, they can upload their own image to use in the message.
The 'Select images for template' button can be used to upload images then insert them into the template
To delete an added image from a template you can hover over an added image, then click on the delete icon to remove it.
