An overview of Targeted Engagement & Community Mapping process
An overview of the Humberside Police lead developments, within Neighbourhood Alert, to enable a better understanding of an area and then being able to instantly deploy your engagement strategy, based on multiple data sets combined with live community information and feedback.
A Wide Range of Information Instantly available
This module enables local inspectors or other authorised officers to browse a large range of live, internal and external data on an interactive map, formulate an engagement or prevent strategy and instantly see which local streets are the most effective to target this strategy at.
Visualise the selections
The powerful mapping solution enables the data selected to be visualised on maps and produced in street lists. The maps can be zoomed down to street level and identify registered users that match profiles as well as pins over houses for un-registered households that match the criteria set.
Plans can be created both as a default, Force-Wide strategy and at a neighbourhood level, to suit localised challenges and objectives.
Launch to Officer handsets
In conjunction with our powerful enhanced survey module, the strategy can be deployed to local team mobile devices and used to direct them to targeted locations. Once on the correct streets dedicated surveys are delivered at the doorstep based on the core requirements of the strategy and the policing plan as a whole.
You said, we did: Message based on Priorities raised
The tools then enable centralised admin and Neighbourhood officers whilst out and about, to quickly access the current feedback and issues for people in any area. Messages can also instantly be sent to people in the local vicinity based on the current issues they are concerned about.
Management Information
Every interaction by an officer whilst out and about following the above street list, can be visualised on interactive street maps and broken down by any area and date range. manage workload, identify best practice, team colleagues together for effective learning etc.
Delivering the survey
Many forces now have a dedicated program built around the Targeted Engagement module. See examples of the door to door engagement tool in action and some of the impact of it on community from this link: Talking Solutions

What is required to deliver a Talking solution?
To deliver your own version of Humber Talking you need an Alert licence and the following modules.
Enhanced Community View survey tool, to be able to send surveys both in the system, from social media and door to door.
Origins Ethnicity database (optional). Origins is household level predictive data which identifies households in every area that contain citizens in under-represented communities (ethnicity / religion). Purchase Origins directly from Webber Phillips or via VISAV
Acorn Social Economic database (optional). Acorn is a powerful consumer classification that segments the UK population. By analysing demographic data, social factors, population and consumer behaviour, it provides precise information and an understanding of different types of people. Alert integrated immediately with Acorn to enable you to find the gaps and under-represented social economic communities in all areas. Purchase Acorn directly from CACI or via VISAV.
